Pointofix – Help
In the following the Pointofix toolbar and its main features are explained. After starting Pointofix there's also a context menu (right mouse button) with some shortcuts available.
Description of toolbar features
Open Pointofix toolbar. Freeze screen and make it available as a drawing area.
For drawing always use the left mouse button.
Close toolbar and show original screen again.
Size of pencil. Also used to change size of some other features.
Transparent colors.
Covering colors.
Freehand pencil. To draw hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse.
Eraser.
Line. To draw hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse.
Press shift key to straighten the line in steps of 45 degrees.
Arrow. Like line, but with arrowhead at the endpoint.
Press shift key to straighten the arrow in steps of 45 degrees.
Rectangle.
Hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse.
Press shift key to draw a square.
Filled rectangle. Press shift key to draw a filled square.
Ellipse. Press shift key to draw a circle.
Filled ellipse. Press shift key to draw a filled circle.
Double arrow. Like arrow, but with two arrowheads.
Press shift key to straighten the double arrow in steps of 45 degrees.
Text input. Press Enter to assign, ESC to abort.
Green check mark. (Wingdings font required.)
Red cross. (Wingdings font required.)
Select screen area for export features.
Mouse position is shown to measure an exact rectangle area.
Hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse.
Press shift key to select a square area.
The selected area is used for print, save to file and copy to clipboard.
To reset area click once at any screen position, while this tool is selected.
Magnifier. Left mouse button swaps between 200 % and 400 % magnification.
Size of magnifier is according to pencil size setting.
Zoom in. Hold down the left mouse button to move display window.
You can also zoom in and out by wheel mouse at a specific position.
Mouse position and hex color code is shown. Hold down the shift button and click left mouse button to
copy hex color code to clipboard. Note: You cannot draw in zoom mode.
Zoom out. At standard view the last drawing tool is reactivated.
Undo.
Clear all.
Copy screen or selected area to clipboard.
Print screen or selected area.
Save screen or selected area as JPG, PNG or BMP file.
Info and setup.
